Classes/Schedule

Dance Classes

There will not be a beginner track this year, so if you have no experience with Lindy Hop or Charleston this is not where you need to take classes.

There are not official “levels” at My Lindy Kraze. However, each class will have pre-requisites that you are expected to know before taking the class. These will all be listed on the website so if you see anything that doesn’t look familiar, and you would like to take the class, you have some time to work on it before hand.

We encourage learning to dance with a variance of levels at My Lindy Kraze so please understand that while there might be people at different stages in their dance our instructors will design the classes so that everyone can be challenged.

Music Classes

All levels are welcome to the music classes. Our instructors will provide challenging material for everyone. Music theory, how to jam, working with a group, and many other subjects will be covered. We are going to build this track around you so there will be more details closer to the event. You might be emailed for more details about your background so we can best fit the program to everyone.

Class Descriptions

Dan and Danielle

Mighty Morphing Momentum Time – (pre-reqs: Comfortable with 6 and 8 count footwork, swing out)

“What is Lindy without momentum? In this class we will cover aspects of momentum, from technique to understanding the range of your rate of motion. With those tools, we will find how we can apply these methods to express ourselves and react to your partner in the flow of the dance.”

Hey, that was cool! – (pre-reqs: Comfortable with 6 and 8 count footwork, swing out)

“Ever watch a dance and think, ‘I want that’? This class is about just that: how to inspire your Lindy Hop from other sources. We’ll start by finding and integrating aspects from Balboa and Blues, and then refine our own ability to find elements from others’ dances to inspire our own.”

Individually Together – (pre-reqs: Be a human)

“Lindy is a partner dance full of individuality, even while connected to someone. This class is about the how and why of that expression: how to add your ideas within the lead-follow context, and where in the music you might draw inspiration from. And because this is a partner dance, we’ll also be sure to find how individual ideas can interact with partners! Come refine your ability to make a truly creative dance.”
